And yet we waste our lives

It is sad that the work week is occupying the best time to do fun things. In this life, we must live. Why do we waste so much time doing other things. There is nothing after life. This is all we have.

  1. Do you really believe, Nicole, that we are just a bunch of atoms and molecules that somehow...function?

Would You explain to me - on exclusively mechanistic term - how photosynthesis actually works?

I'm sure You somehow aware of the fact that nowadays we do not know in every detail how actually this not-so-much-efficient energy conversion mechanism works!

So, my point is: we cannot even explain, thus reproduce a fundamental mechanism like photosynthesis, so...how we are so arrogant to "believe" - Yes, To Believe - we can explain and understand the whole phenomenon of life, not to mention intelligent life, that is to say, us?

Modern Galilean and Newtonian Science and Technology are such powerful tools in our hands, because they remind us every moment what Socrate the philosopher used to repeat to the World: I know that I do not know. I am aware of the inherent limits of my knowledge and understanding of the Universe around me.

I would love to know what do You think about it, Nicole!

    ^_^

We have much more than our lives here on Earth, Nicole.

If we live our lives thinking we are just "finite", we will live a life of damnation.

As Pope Benedict said recently: mankind gives its best when it accepts to deal with the infinite that is around us, that is part of us.

Look forward to hear back from You!

You look and seem a cool strong woman! :)

  2. Lol. A life of damnation the previous comment says. Well I guess that's what you could call it. No god. No purpose. No nothing. We are just a bunch of dumb animals who seem to think that we are so sophisticated, yet we destroy ourselves and our planet.

If there really were a god, he would surely destroy us, because we are not worthy of this planet or even each other.

I often wonder why we have created such a horrible society of emptiness.
